If I Were Debt Free…#70
Climb A Mountain
We sometimes refer to trial in our lives as mountains. The amazing thing about mountains, is when you get to the top, the work is rewarded with an incredible view. When you were stuck in the valley, working your way through shrubs and fallen trees and poorly marked trails, you were probably frustrated. Maybe you were wondering, “Why am I even doing this?” But when you climb to the peak, the view is beautiful and breathtaking. You can see for miles. You get a new perspective that you can take with you, back to your home in the valley.
I love mountains and I love climbing them. I’m not so sure about trials. I like to meet challenges head on, and to prove I can conquer them. After climbing this mountain of debt, I would love to symbolize it by climbing a real mountain, and get a clear perspective on what is next. Care to join?
I would love to hear your ideas for things to do when you are debt free!

Have you ever had that nagging feeling that there was something more to do with your life? I don’t remember exactly when it started for me...

I really like this one Nate.
If I remember right one of your previous “things to do” was to build a small monument to remind you?
Perhaps you can also build a small monument on-top of the mountain you climb. :)
Oh, I’ve also though about something else you can do when you’re debt free! Change the sub-name of blog!! (”working to be debt free”)
What will you change it to??
@Francois that sounds like a good idea–a monument on top of the mountain we climb.
And i have been thinking about what to change the blog title too…i’ve got a couple ideas, but nothing solid yet
I’d always wanted to travel. So getting debt free has allowed me to go places guilt free! By having cash to pay for everything (even the rental car and airline ticket) it was as if I could, for the first time, vacation with NO worries.
Being able to go see my son on a whim, to be able to support the church and the charities I believe in, to know that if the job just gets overwhelming – I can leave. Debt freedom mean just that – freedom!
