What Do You Think?

I read this quote in my budget tracking system tonight:
“God wants us to provide for our families. It is Satan who tells us we must protect them.”

I don’t get it….
uh oh, has crown stepped off the deep end?
Here is the verse they put with it:
“Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren. Every good thing bestowed and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation, or shifting shadows.” James 1:16-17 NASB
My take on it is we don’t need to play it so safe so as to just protect our families, but instead step out in faith and do the work–God will provide.
I’m not completely sure. It seems to one of those vague quotes that get you thinking but don’t really mean anything.
Satan is telling me to “protect” Momma and Jonah, but God is saying be on the mission field together. In July we’re all going to Honduras and we’re trying to cast out all fear. That comment just put me over the edge to take Momma and baby with me tomorrow to minister to the homeless.
I’m learning that God is in control, we’re not. It’s He who gives us life and breath and nothing else.
@Justin I think you’ve got it. Way to put it into action!
