Weekend Reading
2008 February 1
Dear Reader,
Thanks so much for reading along this week. If you’re a new to the blog, be sure to say hi – leave a comment. It would encourage me to know if you’re following along. Be sure to subscribe in a reader or by email if you haven’t yet.
Here are a few updates:
- Peaked at 10 subscribers, but that may have been inflated. This blog is now at 6 subscribers. Thank you, and be sure to spread the word!
- I’ll be posting next week about our progress during month one. Subscribe so you don’t miss it.
- Established a Facebook group called “If I Were Debt Free…“. Those of you on Facebook be sure to stop by.
- Found a great new community for people working to pay off debt. Check out Debt Free Weirdos.
- I’m looking to getting a web domain for the blog. It would be my first time doing so. Does anybody have any tips?
I’d like to introduce you to some new friends I’ve made in the blog world. Here are a few posts that I have found helpful in some way:
- Debt Prison has a good article about staying on track with your plan
- Be Thrifty Like Us shares about all things frugal
- Blogging Away Debt takes a bold step back in time to her first credit card purchase
- Debt Reduction Formula explores the idea of buying nothing new for a year
- Gather Little By Little encourages us with a synopsis of the progress on his 2008 goals
- I’ve Paid For This Twice Already explores the mentality that got most of us in the debt we are in now
- My Dollar Plan is trying to decide if she should go back to work or stay home with the kids-we’re on the edge of our seat waiting to heard the verdict
Have a great weekend. Enjoy the Super Bowl parties. I’ll see you back here on Monday!

Have you ever had that nagging feeling that there was something more to do with your life? I don’t remember exactly when it started for me...

I’m going to miss all the super bowl food…. :(
Thanks, David, for including me in your list!
I’ve recently started using 1&1 to register domains. I’ve got one hosting account there too. Their rates are very reasonable. It’s a good company.

After you register your domains and set up hosting, download WordPress and FTP it to your server. WordPress has instructions at their web site.
If you need to do some general learning about HTML and related topics, I’ve found this site useful…

Hope this helps!
