Seasons of Change

When is it not a season of change, really? I just wanted to post an updated to my “Bummer” post. Before the forum we wrote down all our options with advantages and disadvantages. I also talked with our friend Matt who’s son in in James’ class to see what they were thinking of doing. Last Sunday we had a forum with a few key people on McLean’s Staff to discuss the changes, get questions answered, and find the best solutions. The forum was helpful. There were actually only two families that showed up, ours and Matt’s. And we both went in there with a certain sense of peace and confidence about the change.
We’ve decided on moving to the Loudoun campus when it opens on the 20th of January. Christina is going to audition for the worship team and I am leaning towards being a small group leader for K-1. So barring any further changes, that is what we will be doing in a month. And we are excited. But we are also remaining flexible.
Thanks for your prayers on the situation.

Please keep Betsy Riggan (one of the main Kid’s Quest coordinators) in your prayers. We saw her Sunday at the forum, and she was pretty bummed (but confident) at having to make the decision about Frontline Kid’s Quest. She received a call from Texas on Monday that her parents had been in a terrible car accident. Her father passed away before she made it out there, and her mother also passed away a day or two ago. As you can imagine, this is going to be a very challenging time for her.
